Family Traditions

So this page is kind of fun! I am going to start with the month I started this project in, September 2017. I will go through the rest of the year and through to 2018 until we finish all the months. I will write about family traditions we have for the different holidays\festivities associated with that month! Its great because as we make new traditions as a family I will add them here as well.

September is actually my LEAST favorite month, I often complain about it being September to my husband. "Why can't it be Halloween?" I say. As a kid in grade school as I sang the "These are the months of the year" song, I would always forget September, because to me it was just lame! I am trying to love it more. It was just always weird, school is not exciting anymore because you came back a month ago and you are already over it! You are just waiting for it to be Fall and the holidays! The real kicker is here in California this is the HOTTEST time of the year, and it catches us by surprise and kicks our butts every time! We have pretty much NO birthday's in our close by family in September so no parties! Labor day is nice because day off for the hubby and we typically want to eat good food or go camping or both! 9\11 is always an important day for me too, I try to remember what happened (sometimes I watch a documentary), take a moment of silence and wear red, white and blue. I feel it is important to remember such a tragedy that truly did not happen that long ago. That is September, like I said pretty boring but I am trying really hard to love it! I think I will make up a holiday to celebrate!
